I guess I'm in favor of the looks bikes had in the 50's and 60's. They were real motorcycles then and real men rode them. Considering the reliability, the saying went like this: Don't buy anything you can't carry five miles.
Back then, when a motorcycle rider spit in the street, everyone backed up fast...
Today, when a motorcycle rider spits in the street, little old ladies waggle their finger and say 'You nasty young man, where are your manners!' and the motorcycle rider backs up faster.
Now, the saying is a whine, and you hear it when one of those riders has to have his bike fixed at an expensive shop.
